What is reiki and how does it benefit?

Reiki is a form of energy healing that  works with the energy fields around the body and requires the transfer of the universal life force from the practitioner’s palms to the client. Reiki promotes relaxation, helps the body’s natural healing processes, and evolves emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.

how is a traditional reiki treatment given?

In a traditional treatment, reiki energy flows from the practitioners hands into the client. The client is usually laying on a massage table but treatments can also be given while the client is sitting down or even standing. The client remains fully clothed during the session. The practitioner places her/his hands on or near the clients body in a series of hand positions. The positions includes placing hands around the head and shoulders, the stomach, and feet. In addition, specific positions may be used based on the clients needs (Which is why booking a consultation is ideal, especially if it’s your first time). Each position is held for three to ten minutes depending on how much Reiki the client needs at each position.

WHAT IS AURA CLEANSING/BRUSHING & HOW CAN IT BENEFIT?

Your aura is like a magnet collecting vibrational energies that are all around you in an energy field. This field around your physical body is known as your aura. It’s very important to cleanse your aura, ridding it of odd vibrations and negative energies that come your way. Aura cleansing can come in many forms! There are mental and physical ways to clean your aura. Cleansing and keeping your aura protected from negative external sources will have you thinking clearly and feeling more grounded.

Are there any side effects from a reiki treatment?

Most people will feel relaxed and uplifted by a Reiki treatment. Though, sometimes a person will have what’s called a “healing crisis.” A healing crisis or healing reaction is a temporary aggravation of symptoms that occurs when the body is going through the action of healing itself through the elimination of toxins.

A healing crisis normally lasts two to three days, but can increase for much longer periods of time, even weeks. More than one healing crisis may be necessary for a complete cleanse to take place.

As toxins are released from all levels of your being, you may experience one or more of the following: flu-like symptoms, fever, headache, sore throat, coughing, aching joints and muscles, tingling sensations, nausea, constipation, and diarrhea. Temporary changes may also take place in your sleep habits such as needing to sleep more often and longer or being wide awake when you normally sleep.

There’s a few ways to assist the body during a healing reaction or “crisis”.  A few ways to assist include: drinking plenty of fluids especially water to help carry off the toxins and getting plenty of rest – mentally, physically and emotionally.

To sum things up, healing crises are good even though they make you feel bad. They are a sign that the healing process selected is working by eliminating the body of toxins, impurities and imbalances in the body.

is reiki a religion?
